The Environmental Protection Network (EPN) recently conducted an analysis which found that the Biden-Harris EPA's new air quality rules introduced from 2021-2024 will result in annual savings of $253 billion for Americans while also saving 202,000 lives and preventing 107 million asthma attacks by 2050. The analysis specifically looked at sixteen major air pollution rule updates implemented by the EPA over the last four years to determine their overall environmental and economic impacts.

Among the benefits highlighted by the analysis, EPN pointed out that the lives saved by these standards by 2050 would be enough to fill a convoy of buses from Philadelphia to New York City, and the avoided asthma attacks would result in decreased missed work and school days as well as less-crowded emergency rooms and doctors' offices.

The $253 billion in savings includes regulatory costs, with benefits outweighing costs by a ratio of 6:1. EPN emphasized that these regulations represent an investment in the health of Americans and their labor force. The total benefits of this investment calculated through 2050 amount to trillions of dollars, with a significant portion of these benefits set to benefit underserved communities through the administration's Justice40 initiative.
