BYD is exploring the idea of manufacturing its own electric motorbikes, as indicated by recent patent drawings. These drawings reveal a potential motorbike falling within the 250cc to 350cc equivalent segment, with an estimated power output of 15-25 kW (20 to 35 hp) and a battery capacity of up to 9 kWh.

The design hints at higher speeds compared to typical commuter electric scooters, with features like dual front brake rotors. The motorbike's motor appears to be mounted coaxially with the swingarm, a similar design to Zero Motorcycles' high-performance models, aiming to reduce suspension complexity.

BYD, a company known for its affordable yet feature-rich electric vehicles like the Han EV, may leverage its LiFePO4 batteries for potential electric two-wheelers. Originally focused on battery manufacturing, BYD has since become a major player in the EV industry, producing various electric vehicles from cars to buses.

While there is no official confirmation yet, BYD's interest in electric motorcycles and scooters shows its commitment to innovation in electric mobility.
